Formula: tip = pretax bill × chosen percentage / 100. The total includes your bill, calculated tip and any separate tax or charges. Divide by the number of guests for an equal share.
Example: a $80 pretax bill at an 18% tip adds $14.40, resulting in $94.40 or $47.20 per guest when split between two people. This calculator does not prescribe a tipping rate or automatically include service charges.

Is the tip applied to tax?
